Transcendence is a sci-fi themed freeware adventure PC game designed and created by George Moromisato. Described as a cross between Nethack and Star Control,  the player flies around from solar system to solar sytem fighting, looting, trading, and completing missions. The player can upgrade their ship with equipment looted from destroyed ships/stations or bought from one of the various friendly stations. The game is highly moddable and a wide selection of already existing mods are available. The version available here is 1.01 and is considered stable.
